PLAYWRIGHTS WORKSHOP

The Playwrights Workshop is a regional project aiming at creation of new theatre plays for children by professional playwrights from the region and Macedonia.

The plays written during the workshop have new visions for the children’s theatre and put bigger emphasis to the problems coming from the social and private life of the children, but they also have high aesthetic value.

The Playwrights workshop is a challenge for the professionals, that is the playwrights from the region, since it offers courageous and new visions for the children’s theatre as relevant, powerful reflection of the hard social problems of the everyday life of the children. This is also presented to the children, thus, stimulates the critical thinking among children.

The playwrights work together with professional playwrights from Sweden, a country, which have a significant tradition of the children theatre, especially the children play writing.

As a continuation of the Playwrights Workshop, the Children’s Theatre Centre is engaged in publishing the final plays of this workshop in a form of bilingual books as well as production of these plays in the theatres in the country and abroad and till now, it has achieved significant success.
