CHILDREN’S THEATER CENTER

The Children’s Theatre Centre aims at creation of new theatre culture for children and youth that searches for creativity and energy from the clash or the meeting in the kaleidoscope of languages, cultures, religions, traditions and the ways of living existing in Macedonia

CTC is a PLACE where it is possible to have artistic, cultural or educational experience which, in the same time, is equally relevant, understandable and close to anybody no matter the ethnicity.

CTC by this way of treatment and development of theatre culture contributes to the creation of comprehensive (inclusive) cultural identity of the children and youth and the future citizens of Macedonia.

CTC has progressive ideas about the theatre for children and youth and about its role in the multiethnic society of Macedonia.

This mission CTC accomplishes by numerous high-quality artistic achievements, a big number of educational programs for professional artists and animation of children from all ethnicities in Macedonia who all together learn about the theatre, but simultaneously learn about living and living together.

CTC’s production, except reaching high-quality artistic level, aims at being reachable to all the children from Macedonia no matter their place of living - big cities, small cities, villages, Eastern or Western Macedonia.

The work with children and youth is also widely spread in several cities in Macedonia. It unites hundreds of children who express themselves creatively facing different languages, cultures and points of view of their fellow-citizens who would otherwise never meet in such intensive manner.

The educational programmes of CTC are intended for professional theatre artists and teachers. Through seminars and workshops run by the most eminent artists and experts from the respective fields, the artists become familiar with the modern processes of the art of the children’s theatre in Europe and the teachers with the new possibilities which the theatre offers for the work with children during the educational process.

With its building located in the Old Bazaar, CTC automatically endeavours to anchor its activities in the everyday life of the bazaar. This way, CTC will contribute to the further development of the revitalization processes of the Old Bazaar initiated by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.

During the five years of existence, all these activities showed results which are appreciated not only in Macedonia, but also in the whole region and wider within the international context.

CTC is a unique organization of this type in Macedonia and wider in the region which has clear visions for its future and for its contribution to the development of the culture in Macedonia.
